Watch This 2000-HP Twin-Turbo Huracán Do the Quarter-Mile in Seven Seconds

In the world of high-horsepower exotic supercar drag racing, the Lamborghini Huracán reigns supreme. Its naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V-10 and seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, with some significant modifications and a couple of turbos, can make over 2000 horsepower to the wheels. This one, built by AMS Performance, just broke the record for Huracáns in the quarter-mile.

The DragTimes YouTube channel was on the scene at TX2K, an annual drag event held at Houston Raceway Park in March, to see just how far the Chicago-based shop could push Lamborghini’s platform. In the above video, we’re presented a dyno run of the car, where it was able to lay down 2060 horsepower and 1279 lb-ft of torque at the wheels.

In the fastest of seven quarter-mile drags, the AMS Huracán put down a 7.4-second time at 189 mph, a new record for Huracáns. Perhaps even more impressive was the 0-60 time during that run: 1.4 seconds, with a one-foot rollout factored in. That’s quicker than most new World Rallycross cars.
