The Mustang Mach 1 might not be as exciting or as iconic as the Shelby GT350 it replaces, but make no mistake, it’s still one impressive machine. Despite only being the mid-range offering in the current Mustang performance lineup, it’s able to lay down a sub-eight-minute lap on the Nürburgring without issue.
German publication Sport Auto got its hands on a Mach 1 equipped with the six-speed manual transmission to see just how quickly it could lap the fabled 12.9-mile track during a private session. With test driver Christian Gebhardt at the wheel, the Mach 1 was able to put up a best time of 7:58.29.
