Watch as Porsche Tests the Active Rear Wing on its New 911 GT3 RS at the Nürburgring

Track rats, rejoice. There’s a new Porsche 911 GT3 RS on the way. Judging by this latest spy video to emerge from industry testing at the Nürburgring, it’s shaping up to be one of the most extreme road cars the company has ever made.

Video from a recent industry test pool session at the Nürburgring Nordschleife in Germany published by the CarSpyMedia YouTube channel shows a 992-generation Porsche 911 covered in extreme aero bits, including a new front bumper cover, a vented hood, a massive diffuser, and an absolutely gigantic wing out back.

The body kit fitted to what we believe is a prototype for the new GT3 RS isn’t what has us intrigued, though. If you watch the video closely, you’ll see a small flap towards the back of that massive wing that pops up under braking, and folds down under acceleration. That’s right: For the first time, Porsche may be adding active aero to a GT3 model. For the full story and video, check out this article from Road & Track.
