Subaru Wants to Break a Nürburgring Record With This 1073-HP Electric Concept Car

Subaru revealed a concept for a new all-electric race car at the Tokyo Auto Salon Friday that it plans to take to the Nürburgring. Called the STI E-RA, it sports a 60 kWh lithium-ion battery powering four electric motors (one for each wheel) with a total output of 1073 hp.

The E-RA in STI E-RA stands for Electric Record Attempt, in case you were wondering. Subaru’s goal with the car, as you’ve probably guessed, is to set fast lap times. Its first mission, according to a statement on the official STI website, is to lap the Nürburgring in 6:40 sometime in 2023.
