One-Off Nissan Fairlady Z Proto Gets Stunning Orange Paint and Throwback Mods

Nissan today revealed the newest version of the Fairlady Z, the Japan-market version of the highly anticipated Z that debuted in the U.S. in August 2021. The company is showing a one-off customized model at the Tokyo Auto Salon with a bunch of cool mods, including a bright orange paint job.

Officially known as the Nissan Fairlady Z Customized Proto, this easily identifiable Z also gets a handful of black accents, namely on the hood, roof, and doors. There’s also a split grille piece and unique wheels wrapped in tires with white “Nissan Z” lettering. Out back you’ll find a pair of funky exhaust exits and a two-tone lip spoiler. All of these mods are likely a tribute to the 432R, an ultra-rare version of the original Z built as a homologation special to qualify the car for racing back when it was new.
