Mazda Parting Ways With IMSA Come End Of 2021

The company announced today that it will be shuttering its DPi program, and park its RT24-P prototype, at the conclusion of the 2021 racing season. Mazda had previously stepped away from a partnership with Joest Racing in 2020 and reduced their entry in the championship to just one car ahead of the 2021 season. The decision not to continue comes in advance of the next generation of DPi, a major regulation change to a class called LMDh that will compete for overall wins both in IMSA competition and at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
