Harrison Burton is a rookie this season in the NASCAR Cup Series, and he’ll be driving the familiar No. 21 Wood Brothers Ford this weekend at the Busch Light Clash at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
Burton won’t be lonely. Everybody will be a rookie on the purpose-built coliseum quarter-mile track.
“I ran some three-eighths and some quarter miles in Legends car, but none in a stock car,” Burton said. “It’s going to be an adjustment period, for sure. There’s not much of a notebook for that.”
Perhaps the first adjustment in a weekend full of them will be gaining an understanding of the Clash format. It’s a dizzying doozy.
