Ford is expected to offer a supercharged V-8 Raptor next year, but what if you don’t want to go full aggro baja racer with your F-150? There’s a solution coming, thanks to Ford Performance. Ford Authority reports that Ford Performance will soon offer a supercharger kit for the current F-150 that will boost its 5.0-liter Coyote V-8 from 400 horsepower to 700. Yee haw.
Better still, the kit is legal in all 50 states, and the Whipple supercharger itself is backed up by a 3-year/30,000-mile warranty if it’s installed by a Ford dealer. (The regular powertrain warranty for the rest of the V-8 is maintained.) Torque rises from 410 lb-ft to 590 lb-ft, and per Ford Authority, the 0-60 mph time of the truck is under 5 seconds. Which is more than quick enough for anything weighing well above 5000 pounds.
