When the Ram 1500 TRX arrived on the scene, Ford’s F-150 Raptor met its first genuine competitor from a Detroit automaker. Not ones to be left out of the fun, Chevrolet has just dropped a new teaser that confirms the long-rumored Silverado ZR2 is slated to make its official debut this fall.
The Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 has been the subject of many rumors since SEMA 2019, when Hall Racing showed off its Silverado 1500 race truck with some ZR2-inspired elements. Considering how well received the AEV-developed Colorado ZR2 has been, it seemed like a no-brainer that GM would follow-up with a proper half-ton variant. Recent prototypes spotted in both Detroit and Colorado only further hinted towards the project taking place behind the scenes. Well, Chevrolet has just confirmed these suspicions in a short teaser clip uploaded across social media. In the video, you can see the muddy underbody of a truck as it bangs its way across some rough terrain, before a pressure washer frees a ZR2 badge from its dirt-laden hiding place.
