BMW To Celebrate 50 Years Of M Performance At Rolex 24

It’s the perfect opportunity to showcase five decades of racing achievements.

The BMW M4 GT4 is the latest racecar from the Bavarians to grace the racetracks of the world with the next meeting set to be the 60th Rolex 24 at Daytona. The company is set to use this event as one of many platforms to celebrate 50 years of its performance division. Not only will it be racing for the win but it will also be showcasing a number of its iconic models, both new and old, throughout the weekend.

BMW North America will be making its presence known at Daytona by bringing a fleet of cars that have been important for the establishment of its M division. Historic products such as the sought-after 1980 BMW M1 and more current offerings like the BMW i4 M50 will be taking to the track for a series of parade laps before the green flag is waved for the event.

Portraying its history of competition, BMW M will be putting three special IMSA-winning models up on display. These include the 1975 3.0 CSL, 2015 Z4 GTLM, and the more recent M8 GTE which claimed the title win at the 2019 Rolex 24. You’ll be able to find these models at the Rolex 24 Heritage Exhibition in the Daytona Fan Zone.
